Testimonials from Family Members

  • My aunt died recently at the age of nearly 101 and was under the care of Mid Valley Hospice during the last 6 months of her life. The hospice service was the answer to issues of how to manage her health care when she could no longer travel to doctors appointments and how to avoid hospital stays. They came on a weekly basis and were efficient and caring. They quickly ordered medicine when needed and stayed on top of health problems preventing them from getting worse. Communication with Ana Safarian was responsive and questions were answered promptly. I would recommend establishing early on how much feedback you expect. We will always be grateful for the care she received in her last weeks. There was no hesitation putting her on continuous care when she could no longer swallow. Nurses came around the clock and they were all compassionate, understanding, and professional. They helped distraught family members and were informative about the process my aunt was going through as well. The supervising nurse, Hazel, kept me informed on a twice daily basis for a week before I could arrive from out of town. Mid Valley was responsible and professional and helped my aunt and our family through a difficult time. Brenda H.

  • Dear Rosario, This is definitely a very hard time for me and the family but wanted to take some time to share with you how appreciative we are for all the people who helped with Ed. I couldn't have asked for more attention of professionalism. Everyone who walked through our front door was amazing. The nurses that came by 2 times a week, the gal who helped with Ed's bath, your head nurse, the Dr., you, everyone. Calling Mid Valley whether during working hours or after hours there was always an answer by you or one of your staff. Toward the end of Ed's life the staff that you had come to my home were unbelievable. They were very sensitive to our feelings and our time alone with Ed. With a lot of emotional ups and down everyone at Mid Valley was very calm and reassuring. The most amazing thing that I felt was their true sensitivity and their feelings towards Ed. What a rough profession! Only a vary special person would be able to perform their duties. I will always be grateful to you and Mid Valley Hospice for everything you did for me and my family. Janet B.

  • To our dear friends and Mid Valley Hospice: Thank you for your kind wishes with the passing of Dr. William B. Forrest. We are indebted for your kindness and caring. From our first conversation with Francis, to our generous meeting with Hazel, to the many super spectacular caring nurses, we are so pleased with our journey with your company. We have already recommended Mid Valley to two families approaching this necessary care. We wish you continued success with your extraordinary care. Nancy & Brian F.

  • We had Mid Valley Hospice for the care of our mother, who has severe Alzheimer's. She was often difficult with strangers (anxiety), but the nurses, LVN, and the doctor were so caring and gentle with her that it made it easier for her. We were so supported and cared for by all the staff that I can whole- heartedly recommend Mid Valley's services. Elizabeth M.

  • I wanted to share with you how much you impacted me in the span of just one father's last day. When you came on the afternoon of May 14th, it seemed clear to me that it might be his final day. You made him comfortable with such compassion, and then gave me specific instructions for keeping him comfortable the rest of the day. You confirmed that you thought he had only hours remaining and that allowed me to prepare myself. Long ago, I had determined that he would not be alone or away from his family, but that he would draw his last breath in familiar surroundings with people who have loved him from day one. Your honest appraisal allowed me to stay with him until the end and ensure that he had a peaceful transition. He was not alone and he was not in any discomfort. When you returned to our home that night after he passed away, you prepared his body with such gentle care, compassion, and respect. After you finished, he looked so completely at peace. Thank you. Then...when you were getting ready to leave you out your hand on his shoulder and said "Goodbye John". In just those few hours it felt like you cared about him just as much as we did. I simply do not have the words to express my gratitude. Dealing with the death of a loved one is not east, especially when it is clearly imminent. Your assistance, but more importantly your compassion, helped me help my father; and helping him was incredibly important to me. I will never, ever forget your kindness. Thank you for the hospice work you do. Stephanie H.

  • I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mid Valley Hospice for the medical care, compassion, and support provided to my mother, Rose Cherry, during the weeks that led to the end of her life and, especially, the week and a half that she spent actively dying. I am in a good position to appreciate the quality of the care Mid Valley provided because I had to discharge a previous hospice service for poor service. As soon as Mid Valley took over, the care, comfort, and medical support provided to my mother greatly improved. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times. During the week and a half that my mother spent actively dying, Mid Valley sent skilled, compassionate nurses for round-the-clock care. The one nurse that was not satisfactory was quickly replaced. These nurses showed a high level of compassion, empathy, and medical knowledge. They eased the process of dying for my mother and mitigated her pain and agitation. They also educated me on the dying process, reducing my distress. I would like to thank Mid Valley Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care. Ellen G.

  • Our mother was in a rehab facility for a month after being hospitalized for aspirating pneumonia. When we realized that she was too frail and her dementia was too advanced for her to recover, we asked if she could be certified for hospice care. Mid Valley Hospice was recommended by Dr. Raskin, who was caring for our mother. We were able to take our mother home to her apartment where we knew she would be comfortable. Anna, Maria, and Hazel put a plan in motion to keep our mother comfortable. Hazel and Frances came to check on mom. Jamilla came to change her bandages, check her and answer questions. Claudia came twice a week to bathe mom and change her bandages. Oxygen, Nebulizer and suction machine were delivered to the house. A wheelchair arrived. Meds were delivered in liquid form to help mom with swallowing. We had things delivered that we did not know we needed. We were instructed how to use all the equipment. Moms caregiver was kept in the loop. From the time she came home, mom was kept peaceful and comfortable. Anything we needed to help her was available to us. Rafael, the social worker, met with us. Efrain, the chaplain, met with us and explained what my mom was experiencing. Everyone helped us deal with the reality that our mother was coming to the end of her life. All the nursing and office staff were available 24/7. When mother declined, they helped us to let go. Nurses came 24 hours a day the last weeks. They were amazing and made sure mom was comfortable and we were aware of what was happening. They even spoke to our sister in Israel when she called. Our mother was treated with dignity and respect. Our family was educated and gently guided through the dying process. Mother died peacefully and pain free. We are so grateful to Anna and Maria for always being there for her. Hazel got us so organized and ready to be there for mom. Frances was so kind and helpful always. We were able to let mom go with the dignity and respect she deserved. Sandy & Marty P.

  • I am not in the habit of writing reviews, but the compassion and professionalism of Mid Valley Hospice cannot go unnoticed. My grandmother was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and our family was faced with many difficult decisions. Thankfully, Mid Valley Hospice was there to help. After speaking with Ana, she immediately understood what we needed and did everything to made sure that my grandmother was comfortable and properly looked after as if it was her own family member. That's something that put the family at ease knowing she was in the hands of compassionate professionals who went above and beyond to make her last moments on Earth as comfortable as possible. I hope that no family has to go through this kind of loss, but with people like Anna and her team, it becomes a little more bearable. Thank you Mid Valley Hospice! Steal C.

  • I highly recommend this company. The staff and nurses are so heart warming and compassionate. They go above and beyond answering any concerns I have. My dad was the one being cared for and the nurses made him feel comfortable during his last days. The process is not an easy thing to go through, but Mid Valley Hospice was there with us every step of the way. Shannon L.
